I named my business "Spread Your Wings Mosaics" because I feel like the past few years have been an exercise in me spreading my wings as an artist. In many ways, I feel like a butterfly emerging from its coccoon, ready to spread my wings and fly!

I can't remember a time in my life that I wasn't pursuing something artistic. I was one of those kids who drew on every available surface - whether I was supposed to draw on it or not!
As an adult, I've dabbled in many artistic disciplines - from painting wooden craft items, to making hand-made paper, to jewelry making to graphic design. Then I discovered mosaics, and to my joy, found that all the 'dabbling' I had done to that point played into my new-found passion. Some of my pieces are clear glass over a painted background, while others are clear glass with hand-made paper glued to the back. I've adorned several of my pieces (ncluding the girls on this page) with hand-made jewelry designed specifically for the piece.
The pieces of art I create vary widely in scope and subject. Many are 'people' I've created from my imagination, while others you will recognize immediately as well-known celebrities, or famous scenes from the movies.
I live in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It's a wonderful little art town with many art galleries and a great artist community from which to draw inspiration and input.
My favorite place to hang out is the local mosaic studio - "Mosaic Madness." Although many artists prefer to work alone, I find the atmosphere of the studio to be conducive to great productivity. Being around other artists who are creating beautiful art spurs me to be a better artist.
Flossie- what a floozy! I dreamed her face one night. I woke up, drew her out, and viola! She has her own jewelry (earring, necklace, bracelet and rings), not to mention actual eyelashes!
She also has two 'sisters' -
Fiona and Fanny.
NOT FOR SALE
Fiona (left) just lets it all 'hang out'. If you look closely, you'll see the red heart "tattoo" on her chest. Her eyelashes are long, and her eyes are closed - she knows she looks good, and is ready for a night on the town!

Fanny (right) is a vision in green, with just a hint of 'flirtiness' coming out. Like her sisters, she has custom-made jewelry to match her outfit.
Each is $150, or get them both
for only $250!
All three girls are approximately 28" high.
My husband nick-named all of them together "The Floozy Sisters".
 I don't think they'd mind!
