So many things catch my imagination, and send me in different directions style-wise.
I love creating crosses, especially with a favorite scripture or hymn included in their design. Then there are the women who keep taking up residence in my mind, begging to be released in wood, glass and grout. And the portraits, well, they're really my favorite...
I did my first portrait several years ago when a friend suggested I do something with the image of his favorite movie star, Rita Hayworth. Today, it's still one of my favorite pieces. After firguring out the process, my mind raced through who I wanted to immortalize with this process. I enjoy doing "normal" people much more than celebrities, although it's tougher to make sure I get every little feature spot-on.

I was honored when my friend Ann asked me to do a portrait of her late husband, John. Her favorite picture of him showed a pensive man with a lot of expression on his face to capture. After completing the piece, I was very happy with the result, but more importantly, she loves it.
